Tiny Tower Review

Tiny Tower Review

Tiny Tower is a management game which puts you in charge of your own tower. Starting with a tutorial you learn how to create floors, give each floor a purpose from residential to commercial, how to home little people and give them jobs in order to generate coins for your balance in order to expand further into the sky.

It's another game from the NimbleBit team so the adoring pixel art is present once again which is part of the overall charm of their titles. So each floor has a number of items that you need to stock in order to keep the little people happy and working, this is on a timer basis which can range from mere minutes to a number of hours dependent on what item you have stocked. So once that timer has expired it's up to you to order that stock so it can be sold once more. When you have three or four floors it's quite easy but once you have tens of floors to your tower it can be quite time consuming checking each floor for stock levels. Thankfully the game will send you push notifications if you somehow found a way to turn off the game and return to reality.

When new characters enter your tower, they will indicate which floor they would like to travel to which can be a bit irritating when you're busy checking all of your floors as you have manual control over the tower lift, I guess the people have tiny T-Rex like arms and cannot reach the button for themselves. Occasionally you also have VIP visitors so make sure you attend to those quickly as they can have a massive impact on your tower. Each character will also have strengths and weaknesses in areas making some more suited to being a till monkey in a store or more suited to producing goods. You'll also notice emotions above their head indicating what their dream role would be so make sure you take note of these and place them accordingly to get the most out of your occupants.

If you feel like micromanaging your micro tower even more you can as you're able to move floors around and paint them as you see fit. Have them colour co-ordinated along with the staff in your stores, you can have the most glorious pink tower if you so desire. Again we see the appearance of Bux which can be purchased in game for real money, these Bux can be used to speed up building floors and other assorted uses but you can happily play without spending a single one outside the scope of the tutorial if you're a patient player and can wait for things to happen, nothing is locked to Bux so anyone can play without fear of paying to win.

While being a simple game, the lack of depth to the title may deter some players or simply lose its appeal too quickly, thankfully this has been thought of as alongside the management of your tower you can partake in a spot of mini game action which can generate you more funds for your bank account. This comes in the form of a Where's Wally style game where you can earn some Bux for your bank, you'll also have something to do whenever you fire the game up, from stocking stores to taking care to new occupants by housing them and giving them a job .

For a free game, it's certainly worth the trouble of downloading onto your device as this is a game which will keep you coming back for more.
