Puzzle Dimension Review
Before I begin this review, I would like to stress one very big point to you. Puzzle Dimension is the most frustratingly awesome game I have played in a very long time. If you see yourself as a patient person, play this game and see how long your patience lasts. Anyway, without further a do.
Puzzle
Dimension is as stated, a puzzle game. The objective of the game is to
maneuver a ball around a map, collecting flowers and wracking up as many
points as possible. Sound simple, right? Wrong. Doctor Entertainment
have not only thrown in a multitude of obstacles which include one-use
floor panels, springboards and teleporters (just to name a few) but they
have only gone and thrown in another dimension to ultimately obstruct
you further.
Each level is more or less, completely different from the previous one. You are thrown into the level with nothing more than a quick pan-around view of the landscape then off you go, trying to negotiate your way around the objects and pathways to collect the flowers and get out the exit. I found myself using a lot of trial and error whilst playing this game and often failing, having a quick rage break, then trying to tackle the level again. I strongly advise rage breaks. No, really.
There
are ten different sections which contain different and increasingly
difficult obstacles and are progressively unlocked when you obtain a
certain amount of flowers. Within these sections, there are ten separate
levels to conquer. To truly conquer a level, you must not only finish
it, but do so quickly. I found that if I took a long time completing a
level, I would do it one more time slowly, memorising where to go then
hopping off the edge (thus restarting the level) and trying to speed
through it. This was mainly because of the online leader-boards as I was
set on getting the best I possibly could.
All
in all, there is a lot within this game to keep any type of gamer busy
for a fair few hours. I think that Doctors Entertainment have managed to
pull off something incredible with this game and they are due a lot of
credit for it. They have managed to mix the simplicity of a puzzle game
but the frustration of an epic title; Definitely a must have.
Puzzle Dimension (Reviewed on Windows)
Excellent. Look out for this one.
