Dog Man: Mission Impawsible Review

Dog Man: Mission Impawsible Review

I'm a fan of the Dog Man books, so I was excited to hear that they made a videogame of the series. Dog Man: Mission Impawsible is a very fun platforming game with cartoon-like graphics.

In the first level, you start with one character, but as the stages go on, you get two more of them. You start with Dog Man and end up with Li’l Petey and 80-Hexotron Droidformigon/80-HD. They all have different abilities, such as climbing walls, digging, and super strength. Dog Man can jump high and dig, Li’l Petey can climb walls and get into tight spaces, and lastly, 80-HD can jump super high and move heavy objects.

The Super Buddies only have these powers because of the gadgets that you make for them. You have to collect gears to make the gadgets so that you can find your way to victory.

There is also Petey (Li’l Petey's dad) in levels who gives you extra health. All you need to do is go up to him, and he will give you extra hearts. You get four hearts, including going “supa”. The supa doesn't do anything, it just makes you look cool.

Instead of coins, like your average videogame, Dog Man: Mission Impawsible has dog bones to collect. Some of them are in hidden places, like small crevices that only one character can get through.

You also collect police badges (that look like the one on Dog Man’s police hat). You have to collect four of them. You can only get one of them by collecting so many bones; other badges are hidden in the levels. There are 200 badges in all the levels combined; in one level, there are 40, and there are four in a stage.

You have to gather up these green tadpoles that are hard to find unless you know where to search for them. When you get the tadpoles, you get special artwork under the title ‘Epic Stuff’ because the tadpoles are members of the ‘comic club’ (which are the tadpoles). There are 45 of the tadpoles, artwork, and bones in total.

There are five levels, and in each level, there are nine stages (including a boss fight). Every stage has different enemies to attack. You can stun them to make them stop moving for a couple of seconds, not a long time. Some of them you can use to your advantage, like the apartment enemy, who you are able to jump on to get to out-of-reach places.

There are reminders to take breaks. When the game thinks you have spent too much time on it, it will tell you to do something productive, like write your own comic book.

I really enjoyed Dog Man: Mission Impawsible, even though some levels were a little frustrating. It’s a good deal of fun.
