80 Days Review

80 Days Review

We’ve all read those unique novels written by Jules Verne, and let’s face it; we all wanted to take the role of Phileas Fogg in a long journey around the world. With 80 Days you can do all of that (and so much more) without any hassle. Maybe the coolest thing about it is that you can easily travel with any medium you want, be it via train, submarine or even airship, it all comes down to you and your needs.

What I liked the most about this game is the fact that aside from the the restriction of 80 days, it offers a lot of replay value. You virtually have no limits at all, and are free to choose how and when to play, which for me is very fun and liberating. The game is not hard at all, but you do need to plan your funds and journey well if you want to travel through the entire world and arrive in time. This will require quite a lot of time in order to do so, but efficient planning and extra attention is what will take you to the end quickly.
The small talk and the ability to engage in train conversations during your travels, and having to purchase items to carry in your luggage offer that uniqueness and cool gameplay that you always want from such a game, giving it some amazing moments along the way.

You can stay in towns and explore them, choose to spend the night in town or at a hotel, but managing funds efficiently is crucial. Maybe the coolest thing about this game is how everything manages to add up in order to create a different 80 Days experience.

Graphically the game looks really good, it won’t rival the AAA titles for sure, but it does have that visual finesse that can really make smaller titles stand out. The game has a great soundtrack that suits the experience perfectly, and at the same time you can sit and think or plan your route in an efficient manner.

Everything from the narrative to the entire gameplay is created with the utmost care and you can see that immediately. The game not only manages to stand out with great attention to detail, but it’s also offering high quality in design and music too.

I enjoyed all the time spent with 80 Days and I managed to reconnect with my childhood days in which I read the book. Having the ability to relive those moments, and enjoying the creation of my own itinerary and seeing the results is so amazing that I managed to finish the game multiple times with different routes. I am more than happy with the way the game is created and the replay value you get here is more than enough. So, if you want a good adventure game this is definitely right up your alley, so prepare for a fun and exciting ride!
