Ylands - "Enhancing Exploration" Update Released

The latest update for Bohemia Interactive's free-to-play creativity/survival sandbox Ylands is out now on PC, Mac, Linux and Android. As well as adding a range of Native American-themed assets, improving the shooting mechanics, allowing players to import their own edited bitmaps into the game and implementing a range of general improvements, Bohemia Interactive has overhauled the exploration system, bringing it closer to the team's original vision for the game.

With an all-new world map, players can now sail to different biomes at will, making use of the varying resources found in each one to aid their survival and creative endeavours. Furthermore, ships will now be tied to specific players, meaning that players who grow attached to their seafaring vessels needn't face the disappointment of a hopping from new ship to new ship. This update marks the first phase in the changes to Ylands' exploration mechanics; more updates are planned for the future, although Bohemia Interactive has not currently set a release date for any of them.
