Xbox Series X Pre-Orders to Open Soon According to Telstra
According to Australian ISP and mobile operator Telstra, Xbox Series X pre-orders will be opening soon, after they sent out an SMS message early this week informing those signed up for notifications.
The SMS message was received by TLZ on Neogaf, which says that "Pre-order for the Xbox Series X with Xbox All Access will open soon. This offer is exclusive to Telstra customers...". It is interesting to note that it makes it seem that pre-orders will be exclusive to the Xbox All Access programme at first, which is Microsoft's 24 month purchase scheme, allowing customers to purchase a console with 24 months of Game Pass with no upfront cost, spreading the cost out over the term.
Whether this will follow in other countries remains to be seen. Both Sony and Microsoft have been tight-lipped regarding pricing and release of their next generation consoles, but the floodgates are expected to open sometime in August.
Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are scheduled to launch by the end of 2020.
