Xbox Series S Officially Unveiled at a Surprisingly Low Price
The Xbox Series S, internally referred to by Microsoft as "Lockhart", as officially been unveiled by the company after leaked promotional material surfaced online. The console, a lower-end counterpart to the Xbox Series X, will launch at a price of £249/$299 in November this year.
In the tweet that accompanied the console reveal, Microsoft introduced the console as the "smallest Xbox ever". Not much else is known about the console other than these details and a single image (pictured above), but Microsoft states that it is "looking forward to sharing more soon".
Unnamed sources, speaking to the website 'Windows Central', correctly cited the $299 price point for the Series S. And while the following has yet to be confirmed, the same sources placed the Series X console at $499 and the release date for them both as the 10th November. Again, neither of those pieces of information have been confirmed, but given the validity of the Series S claims, it's likely that they're not far off the truth.
