Xbox One Controller Closer To Working With PC
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced the they expect to add Windows PC support for the Xbox One controller in 2014 however; one developer has taken matters into his own hands and is working on making it compatible.
Chris Gallizzi, developer, managed to get his hands on an Xbox One controller recently and rather than just admiring it's sharp angles and different design, he's been working to make it work with Windows 7. So far, he's managed to make it recognise it as a HID (Human Interface Device) controller and have the analog sticks function in certain games. So far, the buttons aren't mapped or operational. Gallizzi reported that he expects to have have working drivers soon, potentially by the end of this week.
Gallizzi is no stranger to 'breaking' things and making them work for purposes they weren't supposed to. He's already managed to get the PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controller to work with Mac OS X software.
He released a Vine earlier today showing the controller being recognised by Windows 7.
