Xbox Launches Cloud Gaming on Consoles
Thanks to the new cloud gaming support that Microsoft has launched for Xbox consoles, you can now play next-gen games on last-gen hardware. The feature is expected to roll out during November. Catherine Gluckstein, VP of Xbox Cloud Gaming says that the feature will ‘initially roll out with our November release to a subset of Xbox gamers’ and that it will scale to all supported markets ‘over the coming weeks’.
The Xbox Cloud Gaming feature comes with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription and will allow you to play and try games without the need of downloading them, given that you have a solid internet connection. Another feature of Cloud Gaming will allow last-gen hardware users to play Xbox Series exclusive games on their Xbox One.
The feature has rolled out with select titles which are Recompile, The Medium, and The Riftbreaker. Microsoft said that they will ‘continue to support this capability’ and that more next-gen games including Microsoft Flight Simulator will be added in early 2022 to their cloud gaming library.
The cloud gaming support has only been released for 25 countries currently and will expand overtime. You can check if your country is supported through here. Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S via your Game Pass Ultimate subscription.
