Xbox Game Pass Surpasses 30 Million Subscribers
Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass continues to grow rapidly and has reportedly reached another milestone of 30 million subscribers.
The extremely popular game service has reportedly reached the 30 million mark according to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick. The last reported Game Pass members were 23 million as of April 2021.
This number comes from Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, who joined Phil Spencer for a joint interview on the Grill recently. Strauss and Phil were discussing the success and growth of Game Pass where he spilled the number that the subscription service is ‘around 30 million subs’. Phil was quick to correct that the last public number the company had shared was 18 million subscribers but Strauss further reiterated that it’s ‘over 18 million subscribers.’
Game Pass’ growth has been nothing short of phenomenal. 18 million members as of April 2021 and the massive jump to 30 million is enormous given that the big titles from Microsoft this year, Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 are yet to launch. The increase in numbers are due to Microsoft’s continued efforts to add exceptional value to the service- adding EA Play and third-party titles day one onto the service has contributed greatly to Game Pass’ success.
The last update we got on Game Pass numbers was by Windows Central’s Senior editor Jez Corden who had reported that the service had crossed over 23 million members back in April of 2021. The service has managed to pick up another 7 million members in a span of just five months.
By making Game Pass accessible to various platforms and the continued effort to add more value to the service, Microsoft has managed to grow the service very efficiently.
