Worlds Adrift Drifts Away From Planned Release Date
Currently in Alpha testing, Worlds Adrift, the open world game created by Bossa Studios (creators of I Am Bread and Surgeon Simulator) has been delayed in its transition to Beta. The title is set to be launching on Early Access, however the plan was to do so before the end of the year. This has now been pushed back to Q1 2017.
The studio issued an apology, but hoped fans would understand that the delay was necessary to create a game that was good enough:
"We really did hope to release the game in 2016, but we still have a little more work to do to ensure the game is fun, balanced and of course, optimised. It was gratifying to see that you, the community, also stressed the importance of releasing Worlds Adrift when it is in tip-top condition rather than rushing it out half-baked. We really appreciated your candour on this matter and it certainly gave us pause for thought!"
Worlds Adrift is a radical departure from the light hearted and zany games that we've seen already from Bossa, and is a great deal more work as a result. It sees you exploring a sandbox world of floating islands in a completely open and persistent world that changes with every decision you make.
