World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Devs Reveal What’s Coming in 10.2 Guardians of the Dream

In the latest episode of WoWCast, the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight devs have shared details about the upcoming 10.2 content update, Guardians of the Dream, which features a new zone, raid, public events, and a new Legendary weapon. Season 3 is also on the horizon! Here’s everything you need to know:

New Outdoor Zone: The Emerald Dream

In 10.2 Guardians of the Dream, players will finally go to the Emerald Dream. There, Fyrakk and the Druids of the Flame have set their eyes on the new World Tree, planning to infuse the heart of the tree with fire and use it as a conduit to destroy Azeroth.

The Emerald Dream is “Druid Heaven,” according to the devs. “It’s green, it’s overgrown, it’s beautiful,” said Anne Stickney, Senior Narrative Designer. However, it’s also a war-torn landscape with pockets of Fyrakk’s forces threatening the space.

This new area also includes a new Renown faction: The Dream Wardens. To preserve the Emerald Dream, players have teamed up with The Dream Wardens, a group composed of Keepers, Dryads, Druids, Rune Bears, and the Green Dragonflight. Earning renown with them will yield cool rewards! Dragonriding will also be available from day one in the Emerald Dream, offering new cosmetics, glyphs, and races!

New Raid: Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope

Located in the Emerald Dream, players will enter Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope. This raid is a nine-boss raid, including a Dragonriding encounter, and a face-to-face fight against Fyrakk at the end of the raid! Rewards for completing this raid will include new class-themed armour sets inspired by the Emerald Dream.

New Legendary Weapon: Fyr'alath the Dream Render

Little was said about the new Legendary players can get their hands on, but the devs shared some interesting details! “This is going to be a two-handed axe that players can earn,” said Taylor Sanders, Assistant Lead Encounter Designer. It’s known as Fyr’alath the Dream Render, but there’s no information just yet about how to obtain it.

New Public Events

Three public events are arriving with Guardians of the Dream. "Superbloom" acts as a “protect the payload” type of event where players will escort an Ancient as it spreads the bloom across the Emerald Dream. This will lead to "Emerald Frenzy", the second event, in which players will collect currency, items, and seeds. The third and last event is the "Emerald Bounty" where players can plant the seeds they collected. Those seeds will sprout, players will come together to feed the plant, and it’ll bloom, yielding cool loot to collect!
