World of Tanks 100 Years of Tanks Celebration

September 15th, 2016 is a day of celebration for World of Tanks as they celebrate 100 years of tanks. It's a big milestone for Wargaming as they remember the history of tanks across the years and of course, how far the team at Wargaming have since their launch back in 2010. 

With this, Wargaming has been going all out and have been celebrating 100 Years of Tanks with special missions and bonuses in game as they count down the days until the birthday of the original tank itself, the Mark 1. It has been hundred years since the first armored war machine, the Mark 1 entered the Battle of the Somme and marked a new ear of mechanised warfare.

As part of the celebration World of Tanks for PC, Xbox (360 and One), PlayStation 4 and mobile (Blitz) will be all receiving a new mode and the opportunity to drive the famous tank itself in a special event mode available on the 15th of September.

Arriving for PC gamers of World of Tanks is the "Convoy" mode. In this mode players will be driving an entirely new vehicle type: four-wheeled Lanchester armored cars, each armed with machine guns. These incredible fast and mobile vehicles offer high-speed fights between players.  

There will be two teams of seven. One team will protect the Mark 1 as it traverses across a World War I battlefield, the teams need to provide cover and repairs to the Mark 1, while the other team has to use explosives to take it down in its tracks. Players will be able to use explosives scattered throughout the map to assist or take down the Mark 1.

As for the players of World of Tanks on console (Xbox 360, One, PlayStation 4) you'll get to take part in a limited mode "Trench Warfare". This mode starts from the 15th of September to the 18th and then again on 23rd to the 25th of September.

In Trench Warfare players get the opportunity to take control of the historic Mark 1 in a brand-new World War I inspired custom map. It'll be full of bunkers, trenches, and machine gun fire as players battle it out in chaotic World War I-style trench warfare.

Those playing on their mobile device in World of Tanks Blitz will also get the opportunity the drive the Mark 1 in special an upcoming special event too. 

Celebrations are already on their way and the new game modes will be available from the 15th September as Wargaming celebrate the Mark 1's 100th birthday.
