When Does Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Release?

It's almost hard to believe that the beloved Yakuza series has been around for a whopping 20 years now, with its first release dating all the way to the 8th of December 2005. I'm one of the people who only really knew about it recently and is beginning their journey a tad late, as I'm only now dipping my toes into it all, but the glimpses I've seen of the upcoming entry Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii — or, how I like to call it, Yakuza: Pirate — look incredible.

In it, we'll embark on a wacky new adventure as a modern-day pirate as we embody an amnesiac Goro Majima, who, without his memories, reinvents himself in a rather interesting way by taking to the open seas. This means that we players will get to assemble our crew, go helm-to-helm against other pirates in real-time cannon battles, and bring the Yakuza to all the hidden islands.

Whenever you're not busy customising your ship, getting new members, and picking fights on land and sea, you'll be entertained by the unravelling storyline and exploring the world on foot. There are a lot of things to do, such as kart races, whenever you need some in-game downtime.

So, when will you be able to jump into all the wacky fun? Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA have set the 20th of February 2025 as Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii's date. This means there's still enough time to pre-order and get some extra goodies!
