What Black Desert Online's Publisher Change Means for You
The mega-popular multiplatform MMORPG Black Desert Online is going self-published in North America and Europe. That means developer Pearl Abyss will control publishing rights and the game's online services for PC, console and mobile from the 24th February onwards.
Due to the transfer of the MMO's online infrastructure, players will have to transfer their character progress manually using an official online tool. Failure to do this before the 31st May 2021 will result in irretrievable loss of progress. To clarify, if you live in Europe or North America and you want to continue playing with your Black Desert Online character created before the 24th February 2021, you will have to transfer your character using the service referenced above.
The good news is that players who transfer early will be entitled to a range of in-game goodies including Cron Stones, Exchange Coupons, EXP Scrolls and a limited-edition "Now or Nouver" player title.
Black Desert Online is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS and Android.
