Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - Free Chaos Wastes Expansion Available Now

The free Chaos Wastes content update for co-op first-person hack and slash title Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is available now on PC. The update adds an all-new, fully-featured "rogue-lite inspired" game mode to the title's existing suite of content. On the trail of the fabled Citadel of Eternity, the Vermintide crew will ditch their hard-earned gear in favour of their most modest equipment, meaning that players will have to rely on their skills, teamwork and good fortune far more than usual. There are 15 maps, randmonly ordered, in the game mode, which players will find full of random elements. There are Chests of Trials, which bring an element of risk-reward to levels; Shrines, which bestow players the boons of a generous God—for a price; Waystone Altars which offer a random (and potentially devastating) weapon; potions, able to give players a powerful boost; and more. There's true depth behind this bonus mode, with brand-new content to back it up.

Additionally, the update also serves as a remaster, reducing the game's ultimate file size.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - Chaos Wastes is out now for free on PC. A console version is planned for release "as soon as possible".
