Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Receives Highly Requested Features in Patch 3.0

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Receives Highly Requested Features in Patch 3.0

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been out for nearly a month now, having originally released on the 9th of September, and it has officially received the anticipated Patch 3.0!

Announced before the release of the game, this patch was anticipated to add the oft-overlooked Ultrawide resolutions to the game (something that was missing up until now), and it also comes with a slew of highly requested changes that have been made by the team. Using the platform Focus Together, Saber Interactive is listening to player feedback to add some requested additions; Patch 3.0 is the first of these.

So what exactly changed? Well, a lot, though the New Features takes the highlights by a landslide, with some of the complaints I had in my review being entirely fixed. Here are the New Features added:

  • The Hub Sparring Arena (a place where players can completein friendly PvP)
  • Ultrawide support
  • Private mode for Operations
  • What's New & Message of the Day
  • The option to reset colour presets

Notably, the ultrawide support and private mode for Operations are two of the mere three complaints I had in my review (and what was stopping me from playing the game with my wife, as I waited for the official Ultrawide support patch). Yet, this patch also addressed the issues I had with the bots in the game, as they were previously too passive, making it challenging to pass the Campaign mode in the Veteran difficulty solo, let alone in the highest. These changes were addressed in the first Q&A, where the team mentioned that the bots had been inhibited to ensure that the player could take the spotlight and feel epic without your AI companions doing your work for you.

There are still a lot of other changes that you should definitely check out — from gameplay, balancing, tweaks, Operations, PvP, and much more, you can find all of the unique sections (to see which ones interest you the most) in the Steam store news page right here.
