War Thunder Upcoming 1.51 Update - Weekend News Roundup
Over the past week, Gaijin Entertainment has hinted at several new items that could make its way into the upcoming 1.51 update for War Thunder, such as:
Finland
This is set to be War Thunder's first winter tank location, with battle occuring between two picturesque lakes. This is also one where they had to make all-new winter variants of the trees, cliffs, and cottage structures, such as this:

The developers have also stated that the Finland map will also be available for air battles as well, with a 64km x 64km area for the aviators to do dogfights in the chilly skies above.
Stalingrad
Earlier on in the week, they've also released a solitary screenshot of a new map that's in the works, Stalingrad, in one of the news articles, hinting at more information being released on the devblog soon as well.
Neuebaufahrzeug - German multi-turreted heavy tank
The social news feed for War Thunder's Facebook page also show off new vehicles currently in the works: the first being the Neuebaufahrzeug tank, with multiple turrets like the Soviet SMK and T-35 premium tanks.
The Neuebaufahrzeug only had a few prototypes and not considered for mass production, being mainly used for propaganda purposes, so there is a possibility that this may wind up being a German premium just like its Soviet counterparts.
Leopard 1
The German tank tree also gets a new end-game tank in the Leopard 1, the first post-WWII tank to be introduced into their War Thunder lineup; previously the German late-war tanks had to contend with post-war Soviet and US designs, which put them at a disadvantage as they did not have access to post-war developments in technology.
Super Hellcat
The current speed demon in the game, the Hellcat US tank destroyer will be getting an upgunned variant with the 90mm cannon found on the M36. This should see it sit between the M18 and the M36 in the tank destroyers tree and beefing up the US TD offerings.
New Tanks
The social media posts so far also hints at further updates involving the following tanks:
- T-10M (Soviet Heavy Tank)
- T-34-100 (Soviet Medium Tank)
- SU-100Y (Soviet Tank Destroyer)
We will bring more updates as additional details are revealed in the coming weeks.
