War Thunder 1.49 New Content Revealed Over the Weekend

Over the weekend, Gaijin Entertainment has put up several Developers' Blog posts about the upcoming 1.49 update, which will feature quite a bit of new content.

New Vehicles

First up, a preliminary list of new vehicles is announced, with the bulk of them from the addition of the Fleet Air Arm branch (British Aviation Tree) and the US Tank Destroyers.

New aircraft

• USA: Skyraider AD-2
• USSR: IL-2 1943
• Germany: Ar 234C-3, Hs.129 (Cockpit)
• Britain: FireFly F.Mk.I, FireFly F.Mk.V, Seafire Mk.XVII, Sea Fury FB.11, Attacker FB.1, Canberra (Cockpit)
• Japan: J2M2, Ki-21

New ground vehicles

• USA: M2A2, 75mm M3 GMC, M18 GMC, T95 GMC, Т28, М10 GMC, M18 Black Cat, M5A1 (5th Armored Division)
• Germany: StuH 42G
• USSR: 4М GAZ-ААА, SU-57, SU-122-54, Т-34-85E, Т-34E STZ, IS-2 "Revenge", SU-76М (5th Guards Cossacks Cavalry Corps)

Some of the vehicles have already received their individual devblog updates, such as the M18 Hellcat tank destroyer, Skyraider AD-2 and StuH 42G.

New Decals

Next up, a new array of historical decals and roundels will also be added with the 1.49 update, allowing you to personalize your vehicles.

New Locations

The developers have also announced a new location, Hürtgen Forest in Western Germany. The site was the scene for the Battle of Hürtgen Forest, where US forces battled the German defenders for a few months to tie up their reinforcements and flank the German forward lines.

Aircraft will have access to a 64 x 64 km area, while ground forces will have access to a 4 x 4 km area with valleys and peaks, forests, river banks and rural ruins.
