V Rising Announces First Free Expansion Coming This May

In the latest V Rising developer blog “Dark Magic Designs”, Stunlock Studios announced exciting plans for 2023, revealing V Rising’s first major content update in the form of a free expansion coming this May.

“This update will primarily be about strengthening our foundations with new ways to live out the Vampire fantasy,” the dev team said in their blog. The free expansion will let Vampires build better lairs, wield new weapons, explore new areas, and encounter new bosses and factions. Players can also expect a massive overhaul to spellcasting and magic progression. One of the major magical changes is a new item type called Jewels, which will be used to strengthen and modify spell powers, slotting into each individual spell and providing Vampires with more variety across their magic-based gameplay. Spell schools are also being reworked to have a stronger identity (though the devs teased a sixth spell school to be added, they left the details a mystery).

Experimental features include Legendary Weapons, rare weapons with randomized benefits, and Territories that allow Vampires to claim individual plots of land in order to fit more players in the world while also reducing player friction and technical issues.
