UK Government Petition To "Stop Killing Games" Goes Live

As part of the largest ever movement to prevent the practice of publishers destroying videogames that they have sold, a UK government petition has now gone live.

If you live in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales, then you are eligible to participate in getting the petition noticed. Should it reach 100,000 signatures, then Parliament will consider debating it, though the government will respond in some way should it hit 10,000.

The movement has been spearheaded by YouTuber Ross Scott, and you can see the video above which fully explains the purpose. In a nutshell:

Games that are sold, should be left in a functional state once they are no longer on sale.

Games, such as the recently delisted The Crew, have reached millions of players, and yet publishers can just stop you playing them. It wasn't always this way, as many older games can still be played even online, with players using their own servers, for example.
