Ubisoft Reveals Assassin's Creed Shadows Editions
Ubisoft revently revealed the newest upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows title, releasing later this year. Alongside that, however, we also got a look at the pre-order and the three editions we'll be able to purchase to start our journey across Feudal Japan as Naoe and Yasuke. We compiled all of the information for you to check out right here!
Pre-order
First, we'll talk a quick bit about the pre-order title. Assassin's Creed Shadows releases on the 15th of November 2024, and purchasing any of the editions before this time will get you the pre-order bonus, which is a unique quest.
We don't have a lot more context regarding this quest and any further information about it, but fans who want to experience everything may want to pre-order the experience. Pre-ordering any of the three editions will give you access to the additional quest.
Standard Edition
Price: £59.99
If you just want to start your journey across 16th-century Japan, then the Standard Edition will be for you; of course, as a pre-order, you'll still get the additional pre-order-exclusive quest. This should include the entire base game, giving you access to all of the standard things you would want from the game, including the stealth-based gameplay by Naoe and the action-RPG as you take control of Yasuke.
There isn't a lot of information about the base game just yet — we know the playable characters and some of the new features, but until the gameplay reveal comes out in June, we won't really have much more information regarding the game. We can expect it to be huge, much like the previous open-world Assassin's Creed games since Assassin's Creed Origins, but we don't have much more information regarding that.
Gold Edition
Price: £94.99
The Gold Edition will feature the Season Pass for Assassin's Creed Shadows, which will include a bonus quest that has additional unlockable content and two upcoming expansions. The two expansions will be DLC added at a later date after the release of the base game, meaning you'll get a steady flow of content after you've rolled the credits and the expansions start coming out!
Additional to this edition is the three-day early access period. While Assassin's Creed Shadows releases on the 15th of November 2024, for everyone who purchases the Gold Edition (or higher), you'll get the three-day early access, meaning you can start your journey across Japan on the 12th of November 2024.
Ultimate Edition
Price: £114.99
The Ultimate Edition is the highest available (aside from the Collector's Edition, which will be available at select retailers at limited quantities). First, you'll get the Season Pass and the three-day early access as well with this edition, but you'll also be able to get access to the Ultimate Pack, exclusive to this edition.
The Ultimate Pack features the Sekiryu Character Pack, which has an outfit and weapon for Naoe and Yasuke, alongside the Dragon Tooth trinket and the Sekiryu Beast mount; the Sekiryu Hideout Pack, including four unique ornaments that'll allow you to customise your hideout; five skill points in advance to start out strongly; and the Red Dragon filer in the Photo mode. Safe to say, it includes a lot of goodies for fans of either the Assassin's Creed franchise or Japan, as it'll give you a slew of items to enjoy (and even an exclusive filter!).
