Ubisoft Launch 19th Century Search Engine to Promote Assassin's Creed Syndicate
Hear ye, hear ye. The fine gentlemen at Ubisoft have provided an entertaining readable for your consumption. Those of a high enough class to be literate are encouraged to enjoy the newly created "search engine". Powered purely by working class serfs, it provides news and entertainment without any need for a town crier at all. Oh, Well, I guess I'll be off then...
So in case you hadn't noticed, there's a new Assassin's Creed game out soon and it will be set in Victorian Era London at the time of the industrial revolution. In order to help publicise the game, Ubisoft have created the 19th Century Search Engine. This is their impression of what a search engine would look like in the 19th century setting of the game.
The website contains a great deal of original content, all of which is Ubisoft's take on what the internet would look like in the days of Victoria. There's a Facebook equivalent that's literally a book you pass between friends to update, there's news on the reception of the latest book from Charles Dickens, and even some old time pornography by way of black and white photos of knees and ankles! Unfortunately, I found one important omission in the site:
Assassin's Creed: Syndicate will be available worldwide for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 23, and will be available for Windows PC on November 19. In the meantime, you can check out more information about the game, including trailers, news and our new soundtrack here on GameGrin, just click on the game name up there in blue.
