Ubisoft denies limiting Assassin's Creed Unity resolution.

With Ubisoft recently announcing that Assassin's Creed Unity will run at 900p on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One some of the former owners have been left wondering if the game's resolution has been limited. It is understandable considering producer Vincent Pontbriand stated that the game would run at 900p and 30 frames per second to "avoid all the debates and stuff."

Ubisoft have since clarified that it is not the case that the game is limited to this resolution and framerate and that the specifications are not designed to hold one version of the game back with Pontbriand saying:

“Absolutely not,” Pontbriand says. “We’ve spent four years building the best game we could imagine. Why would we ever do anything to hold it back?” Pontbriand goes on to say that he understands why someone might think that’s the case based on a recent interview, adding “I simply chose the wrong words when talking about the game’s resolution, and for that I’m sorry.”

Ubisoft have assured fans that the company does not constrain their games and that Assassin's Creed Unity is pushing the new-gen hardware to an unprecendented level for the Assassin's Creed series. And for anyone left wondering if the game is assured to be 900p Ubisoft also clarified that final specifications are not set in stone, so there is also the chance that the resolution will be upgraded to 1080p.

Assassin's Creed Unity is set to release on November 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
