Try Out Monster Hunter Wilds for Free for a Limited Time

If you've been looking forward to the release of the highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds title, then you're in luck!

CAPCOM is running a limited-time Open Beta Test, where players will be able to participate and experience a small portion of the full release. The purpose of this test is to give players the opportunity to experience the game and confirm numerous technical aspects — such as the network load and overall operation — ahead of the game's full release next year.

Those who participate in the Open Beta Test will also be able to claim a special bonus to use in the full game. The participation bonus will include a unique Open Beta Test Bonus Pendant and an Open Beta Test Bonus Item Back, giving you access to the following items:

  • 10 Mega Potion
  • 5 Ration
  • 5 Lifepowder
  • 2 Max Potion
  • 2 Herbal Medicine
  • 2 Nulberry
  • 5 Armor Sphere

In the test, players will be able to experience the character creator — allowing you to create your Hunter and Paiko. Once you've finished the hardest task of them all (choosing between hairstyles, obviously), you will embark on the Story Trial, including the opening cutscene, tutorials, try out several weapons, and finally move on to the Doshaguma Hunt, where you'll fight the alpha of the pack whilst changing between two weapons and experience the hunting action first-hand.

SOS Flares will be enabled, so players can get the opportunity to use them and call for assistance from others — even cross-platform! Create a group of hunters or petition the assistance of NPC hunters if you're more keen on solo play.

There will be two periods where players can experience Monster Hunter Wilds. The first will be a PlayStation Plus Exclusive Early Access Play, where PlayStation Plus subscribers can begin the journey from the 29th of October at 03:00 GMT until the 30th of October at 02:59 GMT. Then, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam players will be able to embark on the journey from the 1st of November at 03:00 GMT until the 4th of November at 01:59 GMT. This means that those who subscribe to PlayStation Plus will receive two periods of gameplay, but all platforms will have the opportunity to participate.
