Trine 3 Early Access Trailer Available
Early access to Trine 3 will be available from 21st April, Frozenbyte Studios have revealed in the Steam Store posting, along with the new early access trailer.
Trine 3 will be the first time the developers move from a 2D game engine to a 3D one, which is why the developers have moved to Early Access for more testing with the player-base, so that they can 'collect feedback on the new gameplay features' and 'tweak those into the right direction'.
Players who buy into the Early Access will have access to the following:
Currently the Early Access version includes the first two levels of the game, and those can be played through in single-player mode, as well as local co-op. Online co-op is included, but is not yet bug-free and will have some problems. All playable characters – The Thief, the Wizard and the Knight are included along with their basic abilities.
As with Early Access games, there's bound to be bugs and not performance-optimized yet, so players might experience problems with the gameplay. The Early Access version will be priced slightly lower than the official release.
More details on the final version of Trine 3 have also emerged:
- Game is expected to launch around Summer 2015
- Full version is expected to have around 6-7 hours for a playthrough
- Level editor available
- Special challenge stages tied in to the story
