Title of New Call of Duty Game May Simply Be Modern Warfare

This year’s Call of Duty title has been heavily rumoured to be the fourth instalment of the Modern Warfare sub-franchise, with most assuming the title would simply be called Modern Warfare 4. However, several sources on Twitter have since claimed that the title is in fact Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

While it’s true that Activision have already released a game in the past called Modern Warfare, the full title was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The announcement originally came from YouTuber LongSensation, and has since been backed up by other sources.

Apparently the title will act as a soft-reboot, focussing on “troubled, realistic emotions”. This seems to be a divergence from the more blockbuster action of recent instalments. An official announcement will likely be made soon, followed by a winter release.
