THQ Nordic Raises Development Resources for The Guild 3

THQ Nordic announced recently that they've started to make a bigger push to get The Guild 3 out of early access as soon as possible, addressing player concerns that the game has been nigh unplayable for six months with little improvement.

To help the game's progress along, Vienna-based Purple Lamp Studios has been brought in on the project. Purple Lamp Studios is a newly-formed studio, but with a veteran staff from the likes of Sproing Games (Panzer Tactics, Cursed Mountain), THQ is hoping they'll be an invaluable asset.

“For the past few years, the folks here at GolemLabs had the huge honor to work on The Guild 3," said Jean-René Couture, CEO of Golem Labs, who have been working on development for the newest installment of the Guild franchise since it hit Steam Early Access last September. "However, the very last remaining stretch of development will be done under the care and reigns of THQ Nordic. So, from now on, GolemLabs will eagerly and proudly be waiting for the release of The Guild 3. For us here at GolemLabs, it is time to embark on new and exciting adventures."

Purple Lamp Studios will be tackling the final planned features, including multiplayer, societies and the much-touted sovereign mechanic.

This announcement game on the heels of a new patch for the game, version 0.5.1, which, among other things, improved game visibility by making some objects transparent at certain angles to avoid obscuring characters in the game world, as well as a highlight shader for hovered characters or buildings.
