THQ Nordic Confirm New Darksiders Title

With the demise of THQ, the future of the Darksiders franchise had been in doubt. That situation was brightened however with the purchase of the company’s IPs by Nordic Games, and the subsequent release of Darksiders: Warmastered Edition. It seems the success of that re-release has convinced the Scandinavian company to push forward with a new game, and they have announced Darksiders III to be released in 2018.

“As promised, we have taken our time to ensure that this next Darksiders will be everything action-adventure gamers and especially Darksiders loyalists could dream of and more,” said Lars Wingefors, Co-Founder and Group CEO, THQ Nordic AB.

The development will be handled, at least in part, by Gunfire Games. This is significant as the indie developer are largely comprised of ex-THQ staffers who worked on the previous games. As a result, we will be seeing a game that’s created by those who know the series best.
