Third Volume of Prinny Presents NIS Classics Set to Release in 2022
NIS America, the North American branch of Nippon Ichi Software, will be releasing Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 3 for Nintendo Switch on 30th August in North America, 2nd September in Europe, and 9th September in Australia. Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 3 is the third instalment of the Prinny Presents NIS Classics series, which aims to bring Nippon Ichi Software’s legacy titles to modern consoles for the first time. This set includes tactical roleplaying games La Pucelle: Ragnarok and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure.
La Pucelle: Ragnarok is a definitive version of PlayStation 2 game La Pucelle: Tactics that was originally only released in Japan for the PlayStation Portable in 2009. La Pucelle: Ragnarok follows siblings Prier and Culotte as they join and work with La Pucelle, a group of demon hunters within the Church of the Holy Maiden. The game includes content not seen outside of Japan before, including voiced-over cutscenes, a scenario revolving around Prier’s demonic self, and additional characters originally from the Disgaea series. La Pucelle: Ragnarok also features quality of life improvements to the game, such as quick travel and skippable cutscenes.
Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, the first in a series of musical role-playing games, was originally released for the PlayStation and later ported to the Nintendo DS. The game features musical numbers instead of cutscenes with full vocals and audio in both English and Japanese. It follows Cornet, a girl with the ability to converse with puppets, as she fights to save the object of her affection Prince Ferdinand after he is turned to stone by the witch Marjorly. Aside from being a musical RPG, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure is known for laying the groundwork for the Disgaea series, which borrows from the game’s battle system.
Prinny Presents NIS Classics Vol. 3 will be available on Nintendo Switch in late August and early September depending on the region. La Pucelle: Ragnarok and Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure will be available separately on PC via Steam at the time of release.
