The Witcher 3 on Switch Now Supports Cross-Save With PC
The latest update (3.6) to The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Complete Edition on Switch adds cross-save support with PC versions of the game (specifically those on Steam and GOG).
While this is fantastic news for Switch double-dippers, and another example of CD Projekt (and Saber Interactive) going above and beyond for its fans, the cross-save support does come with some minor caveats. Namely, save files that have been renamed will not be recognised by Nintendo's cloud save system and save files from modded PC versions may cause additional issues when transferred to Switch. While minor, these incompatibilities may throw a spanner in the works for some PC/Switch players.
In addition, this update also adds more graphical options, improves performance, fixes numerous bugs, increases support for alternative languages and better integrates the Switch's touch-screen into the game's menu navigation.
No word has been given on future cross-save support between consoles, and it probably wouldn't be wise to hold out hope for that to come to pass.
All told, a solid and consumer friendly update from the folks at Saber Interactive and CD Projekt!
