The Winter Sale Has Arrived to Steam Alongside Voting Phase for the 2023 Steam Awards

With the year coming to a close, Steam is doing its final sale of the year with the traditional Winter Sale! Featuring thousands of games on discount, it's the perfect opportunity to stock up on some games for the new year. After all, the backlog demands to grow!

If you've already gotten the opportunity to partake in Steam's Beta Client, you can also take advantage of the opportunity to try the newly expanded gifting system, where you'll be able to send gifts to everyone in one cart. Additionally, you can take the opportunity to make use of the new Private feature added.

Starting on the 21st of December 2023 and ending on the 4th of January 2024, you have a total of 15 days to peruse the shop and purchase any games you desire. Also coming with the new sale is the traditional daily sticker you can get! By going to any of the categories, you can get a winter-themed sticker to use in Steam chat with all of your friends.

You'll also be able to craft the Winter Sale 2023 Badge of the season, featuring 11 total cards. You can get a few by making purchases (equivalent to a specific amount of money spent) or by browsing your Discovery Queue daily. You'll also get cards for each badge that you craft over the sale period, which means it's the best time to craft all of the badges you've been saving in order to boost your level to massive heights!

Finally, with the release of the Winter Sale 2023 comes the nominees for The Steam Awards 2023! You can now vote for the most-voted finalists, selecting from five total options that were chosen by the Steam community. The awards you can vote for are:

• VR Game of the Year Award
• Labor of Love Award
• Best Game on Steam Deck Award
• Better With Friends Award
• Outstanding Visual Style Award
• Most Innovative Gameplay Award
• Best Game You Suck At Award
• Best Soundtrack Award
• Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award
• Sit Back and Relax Award

You can vote on these awards until the 2nd of January, meaning you have less time to vote than you do to make purchases. By voting on each category, you can get 11 different stickers, though this time, you can't skip any of the awards to get the reward as it was available during the nomination phase. It's worth noting that finalists can only qualify for two of the awards, being their respective Game of the Year award (VR or otherwise) and another category, which is why you might not find games in several categories (such as Lies of P not qualifying for Best Game You Suck At Award but instead for Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award).

You can partake in voting so long as your Steam account isn't limited and you can cast one vote per category. You'll be able to change your vote until the time voting ends, and all of the winners will be announced immediately on the page the same day — all of the winners will get a Steam Awards trophy directly to their offices and a virtual version for their game's store page.
