The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - What's New in the Meat Grinder Update?
The first major update for Skydance Interactive's The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners is out now for PlayStation VR, Oculus headsets, Valve Index, HTC Vive and Windows MR Headsets. Titled The Meatgrinder, the update introduces an all new round-based survival mode known as "The Trial", a new difficulty option plus a new skin for the Katana weapon. Check out the update's trailer above.
The Trial serves as the ultimate test of a player's walker-fighting skills. Starting with nothing more than a screwdriver and barely enough resources for a single weapon, players must aim their swings, stabs and shots well if they hope to rack up enough points to survive the progressively more challenging waves of undead foes. Contrasting the main game's focus on story, The Trial offers something for players looking to dive into some VR zombie fighting without pesky 'narrative' getting in the way.
On the other hand, players solely after some good old fashioned storytelling will enjoy Saints & Sinners' new difficulty option. To let players immerse themselves in the game's characters, narrative and events, the difficulty mode drastically tones down the challenge—perfect for those who find the VR combat a little too intense.
