The Old Republic Celebrates 10 Years with Legacy of the Sith

Star Wars: The Old Republic turns 10 years old this December and they've announced a year-wide celebration kicking off with a new expansion coming later this year called Legacy of the Sith.

Legacy of the Sith continues the main storyline focused on Darth Malgus and will send players to the aquatic world of Manaan as they uncover his ultimate plan. Alongside the story content the headline feature of the expansion is something they are calling Combat Styles.

Combat Styles seperate your class story from your abilities allowing Force and Tech users to customise their character in a far deeper way than before. For example, a Trooper can now choose to use ability sets from the Smuggler or the Imperial Agent allowing you to use pistols or a sniper rifle.

As well as this, the expansion will also add a loadouts feature to make switching gear and skills less cumbersome, this feature also extends to your Outfitter profiles making swapping Combat Styles and disciplines a one-click affair. The expansion will also bring with it a new Flashpoint and Operation and a slew of other additions including user interface redesigns and a new character creation experience.

A new Galactic Season, Shadows of the Underworld, will also start alongside the expansion introducing the game's first Duros companion, Fen Zeil, a gunslinger. Season 2 will benefit from quality of life improvements learned from the inaugural season.
