The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and its Sequel Set to Release in the West for the First Time
Nihon Falcom Corporation and NIS America will be releasing the previously Japanese and Chinese exclusive The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero in the west for the first time on 27th September in North America, 30th September in Europe, and 7th October in Australia. The game will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch and features enhanced textures and graphics.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is a Japanese roleplaying game that was originally released for the PlayStation Portable in 2010. The game follows rookie police officer Lloyd Bannings after he’s assigned to the Special Support Section of his department, where he and others do small jobs and accidentally stumble into a city-wide conspiracy. The localisation of The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero is based on an English fan translation project done by a translation team Geofront. Along with being localized, the game features quality of life improvements, such as skippable scenes and a high-speed mode, and a refined combat system.
NIS America will also be releasing The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero’s direct sequel, The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure, in the West in 2023, though the exact date is still unknown. The sequel finds Lloyd Bannings and the Special Support Section again in the town of Crossbell, now rife with political tension from neighbouring nations the Republic of Calvard and the Erebonian Empire. The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure was originally released in Japan for the PlayStation Portable and is now set to release on PC, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. Like its predecessor, the game’s localization is based on the fan translation by Geofront and there are various improvements from the original version.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch in late September or early October depending on the region. The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure will be available on the same consoles at a date yet to be determined.
