The Heroic Legend of Eagarlnia - What's New in the February 2021 Update?

JRPG-style grand strategy title The Heroic Legend of Eagarlnia has seen a hefty expansion today thanks to a free content update. The PC-exclusive set in a fantasy world where players must juggle "internal management, foreign trade, battles, and other adventures" will now feature new heroes, more gameplay mechanics and some noticeable quality-of-life improvements.

For starters, there are 10 new unique heroes and 85 regular heroes, bringing the total count to over 300. Plus, new missions will give nine of these new unique characters content of their own to play through, although the developer assures players that "Iruril's story will continue to unfold" in these new missions too.

Also noteworthy in this update is the ability for heroes to level-up, gaining skills as they go. In addition, the "Faction camps" system looks to add more layers of depth to the game. With this system, heroes, factions and soldiers will now be categorised as "Lawful", "Chaotic" or "Neutral". These categorisations will affect their availability for recruitment and the soundtrack underscoring their gameplay.

The in-game economy has seen some reworking too, with finances becoming easier to manage and the city trading negotiation gameplay being reintroduced. This comes increased focus on financial management comes alongside a new Hero Record, which will help players manage their meta-progress through the game (deaths, betrayals, wins, etc.)
