The Guardians Come To Elite: Dangerous Next Week
The newest update to Elite Dangerous: Horizons, entitled The Guardians is finally leaving beta and heading into the deep black of space for everyone. It's been on the test servers for around a month now and after a bunch of tweaking and testing it's coming out next Tuesday, the 25th October.
Like all of Horizons' patches so far, a lot of the new content trickles down to owners of the base game. Exclusive to Horizons owners via patch 2.2 is the titular ship-launched fighters feature, The Guardians, alongside that, the tweaks to the Engineers and planetary content are also obviously only accessible to those with the expansion.
However, almost everything else in the update applies to owners of the base game, included in patch 1.7 are the various quality of life changes such as the galaxy map filters, jump notifications and new graphical effects. Also available to all are the new passenger missions and station interiors.
Both patch 1.7 for the base Elite: Dangerous and patch 2.2 for Elite Dangerous: Horizons are due for release on Tuesday the 25th October.
