The Director of Lies of P, Jiwon Choi, Announces DLC and Sequel Are in Development in a Letter to Fans
NEOWIZ's surprise hit of 2023, and one of the best soulslike experiences that isn't developed by FromSoftware themselves, isn't done just yet. Lies of P seeks to expand the universe, as we say in the closing sequence where a teaser seemed to indicate the continuation of the future, though at that time, we were unsure whether we'd see more of it.
Now, millions of copies sold later, slews of puppets slain at the hands of Pinocchio, and likely far, far many more controllers smashed, we've finally gotten a hint of what's to come. In a new letter by Jiwon Choi, the director of Lies of P, we are informed of the upcoming DLC that will be coming... and the fact that the sequel is well on its way.
In this letter, the director thanks the team NOUGH and ROUND8 Studio for helping make the team's dreams become a reality as he teases the upcoming extra pieces of content, making one thing clear: NEOWIZ isn't done yet. Promising sticking to the basics whilst still trying to innovate and find room to grow, if Choi's dreams become a reality, it seems like the possible future for the franchise is looking mighty bright.
Alongside this announcement, we got two things relating to the DLC: the first artwork depicting a lighthouse and our protagonist Pinocchio (indicating we'll continue playing as the beloved puppet past the final fight) and the first soundtrack, "Lisrim".
We'll stay tuned for more information and we get closer to an official announcement and release!
