The Castlevania Dominus Collection is on Modern Platforms; Check Out the Trailer Here!
The Castlevania Dominus Collection was initially released on the Nintendo DS, including the games Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, Castlevania: Portrait or Ruin, and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. Now, after so many years, the Dominus Collection has finally been released to modern consoles.
The first title in the collection is Dawn of Sorrow, first released in 2005, taking place a year after the events of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow. In Dawn of Sorrow, you'll follow Soma Cruz, who is once again at the centre of a plot by a mysterious cult to resurrect Dracula.
In the second title in the collection, Portrait or Ruin, first released in 2008, Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin will go to the resurfaced castle of Dracule to investigate how it came to be. In this game, you, in Charlotte and Jonathan's shoes, will find that the mastermind behind everything will not be who it seems.
Finally, we have Order of Ecclesia, which was also released in 2008, and follows Shanoa's search for the three most powerful glyphs which were said to be strong enough as to defeat Dracula himself. Having been stolen, it will be your job to search for these glyphs to return them to the Order and hopefully defeat Dracula once and for all.
Included in this revamped version of the Castlevania Dominus Collection are two bonus titles, Haunted Castle and Haunted Castle Revisited. These are the original arcade version of Castlevania and a reimagined and redesigned version of the classic game.
In the original Castlevania, released in 1988, you'll follow Simon Belmont as he goes to rescue his kidnapped fiancée from Dracula. In Haunted Castle Revisited, you'll find a touched-up, redesigned, and rebalanced version for modern audiences, while the original was infamous for its extreme difficulty.
The new Castlevania Dominus Collection will include more Quality of Life functions which allow you to Rewind, Quick Save, and Load Game at any time. You can customise the buttons and display layouts that were designed for the original dual screens as well. Included in the collection is a gallery mode with unreleased artwork, development sketches, instruction booklets and packaging, encyclopedia, and a music player where you can compile your favourite tracks.
Excited about playing the games in the Dominus Collection? Then I've got some great news for you. It's available now! You can purchase and download it on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam now!
