The Avengers Join Disney Infinity
At a special event in LA yesterday, Disney announced that the Avengers will be joining its collectible toy-slash-video game franchise for Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes, the "2.0 edition" launching this year.
The game will feature the Avengers, Spider-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy and several big-name cinematic universe villains--including Loki and Molok. Disney has also brought in award-winning comic writer Brian Michael Bendis (the mind behind Marvel's Ultimate universe, the House of M and Secret Invasion storylines) to work on the game's story. Disney teased this reveal earlier in the week with a thirty second trailer showing captain america's shield pinballing around the Infinity sandbox.
Alongside the announcement, Disney revealed the first six figurines--Hawkeye, Black Widow, Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man and Thor--which will hit stores sometime this fall as part of the new Disney Infinity 2.0 line.
Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, iOS, PC, Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
