Tenco Tactical RPG 'Eiyuu Senki' Comes to Conquer the West with PlayStation 3 Release
Following the success of the game's PlayStation 3 port in Japan, previously erotic, tactical RPG cum visual novel Eiyuu Senki is due for a release on the Sony console in both America and Europe courtesy of independent localization teamFruitbat Factory. Eiyuu Senki's localisation is due in part to both fan demand and the developer, Tenco's, desire to expand the franchise.
Fruitbat Factory's project lead Jakke Elonen expressed the team's excitement to be working on the franchse
“As long-time fans of tactical RPGs we’re very excited to get to work on this title, which we’ve seen many fans wishing to be localized. We are aiming to release Eiyuu Senki simultaneously in North America and Europe, and will give more updates as they happen.”
The game follows the main character as they struggle to settle their nation's civil unrest in a warring world based on famous historical empires and events.
In a world where powerful nations run rampant and heroes battle one another for supremacy, the great nation of Britannia seeks to unite the world through peaceful means while the European Union has adopted an aggressive policy and the Seafaring Nation of Vinland thrives on pillage and plunder. Far in the east, the small nation of Zipang is stuck fast in a quagmire of civil unrest.
In the midst of all this, our memory-loss stricken main character has a fateful meeting with a Hero of Yamatai, Himiko. Together they settle Zipang's internal disputes and set off into a world covered with the burning embers of war.
Whilst this may sound par for the course in terms of strategy RPGs the big twist behind Eiyuu Senki is that all the historical figures involved have been re-imagined as 'beautiful maidens'.
If you're interested in seeing how cute Napoleon can be or how the world might be different if the Vikings were all tsundere schoolgirls you may have to wait as the game is yet to recieve and official release date, however FruitBat Factory are looking at a 2014 release.
