Telltale Games & Marvel Entertainment Team-Up
Usually a comic book team-up is spontaneous - unless it's happening in a book with "Team-Up" in the title.
Well, Telltale Games, developer behind Game of Thrones, Back to the Future: The Game, The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands and more have announced that they will be developing a Marvel Entertainment project in 2017.
This is probably to give them time to tie-up work on Game of Thrones, Tales from the Borderlands and their upcoming Minecraft title.
Marvel Entertainment, if you're unaware, are the company behind such cinematic hits as Big Hero 6, Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Their latest movie Avengers: Age of Ultron hit cinemas yesterday, which assured all eyes were already on them when this announcement was made.
At this point there isn't enough information to know what Marvel property will be turned into the latest adventure series from the veteran developer. Marvel are co-producing a Spider-Man movie with Fox Studios, which would be the most obvious choice given the character's popularity and numerous videogames - although Thor: Ragnarok and Guardians of the Galaxy 2 are also due out in 2017, with Avengers: Infinity War Part One due out in 2018.
It may not even be based upon a movie franchise - Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is getting a spin-off series and the Netflix Marvel series' recently began with Daredevil and by 2017 will be ramping up for the movie The Defenders.
Finally, it could even be based on a comic book or a cartoon!
Of course, we'll let you know when more is announced.
