Team Fortress 2's Competitive Mode is Now Live
Surprise! Overwatch isn't the only one that's received a competitive mode, Valve's Team Fortress 2 is getting in on the action as well with the release of its very own competitive mode that's now live.
Although the timing would suggest it's deliberate to coincide with Overwatch's, the fact is Valve have been working it for over a year and it's arrival is more of a coincidence. Alongside the new mode comes a new update that includes: Changes to quick play, three new community maps, four new character taunts and number of changes and fixes, which can be all seen via the TF2 site here.
While the base game is free to play, the competitive mode does require a premium TF2 account, but this can be purchased through the in-game Mann Co. Store, or if you own an original copy of the game you're set.
Check out celebratory announcement trailer above for you're amusement and if you've not played Team Fortress 2 then, where have you been? It's free to play on Steam.
