Tales Spin-Off Tales of Link Coming This Year

With Tales of Berseria in development and set for a release this year in Japan, Bandai Namco are hoping to whet our appetites for the game with a spin-off mobile phone game. Tales of Link is sadly NOT a crossover with Nintendo's Zelda franchise, but instead a matching puzzle game with RPG elements, set in the Tales universe. It's available now as a free download for Android and iOS.

Instead of matching gems or sweets like is often the case in these kinds of games, you're instead matching members of your party. You choose from nine different characters, each with their own distinct set of skills that make them valuable in combat. They arrange themselves into uniform lines, like you do when battling mythical monsters, and you finger them in sequence to deal damage. 

The title is set in a world that is protected by the “Seal of the Holy Shrine.” When this seal to the heavenly world is suddenly broken, the “Seed of Ruin" is unleashed, scattering demons across the land. These demons bring inevitable disaster and threaten to inflict war and suffering on the world, and it’s up to the player to stop them. Players must go on an epic journey to cleanse the world of these demons and stop them from destroying heaven and earth.
