Supercell Respond to Town Hall 11 Criticism

Supercell Respond to Town Hall 11 Criticism

In December, Supercell released one of the biggest updates ever seen in Clash of Clans. The hope was that players would love this massive new update, however it turned out to prove controversial for them, prompting a slew of negative feedback from some of the game's fans. They currently have a forum post of over 1000 pages of feedback, predominantly negative, on their official forums.

The main controversy surrounded the way that the Town Hall operates. Previously players could leave their Town Hall outside their town and allow it to be destroyed by opposing players, giving them a free shield and no loss of resources. However, Supercell were not happy with this as it was not how they game was intended to be played. The latest update closed this exploit and many players were unhappy, deeming it as a way for the developer to make more money selling gems.

Because of the changes it's now much more difficult to save resources from incoming attackers and players were finding it a struggle to play as they previously had been. There was also a lot of discontent from players over how the negative feedback has been responded to, with very little response from Supercell themselves.

To rectify the last point, they have taken to their forums to explain things a little. They have taken to their forums to issue a statement. They made it clear that whilst they won't be changing the lack of outside Town Halls, they are giving resource saving their full attention and are currently working out how best to improve this for everyone. You can read their full statement here.
