Super Mario Odyssey Reveal Trailer

It's been a while since we had a third person title starring Mario, but with the Switch will finally come a new one. The last one was Super Mario Galaxy 2 in 2010.

So what will the new one, titled Super Mario Odyssey, entail? Well, the most striking things are the setting - a much more realistic world - and the apparently sapient hat.

Although the scenes of New York appear to be more like a hub world (ala LEGO Marvel Super Heroes), Mario will be visiting lots of places, and using his hat in a variety of ways, rather than just wearing it like a... hat.

Super Mario Odyssey will be released close to Christmas 2017, only on Switch.
