Stellaris Now Available to Pre-Order as Countdown to Launch Begins

Paradox Interactive's first foray into the world of science fiction is to be upon us soon. The game is due for release on the 9th May on Windows, Mac and Linux. The game is set to be available both digitally and in a number of special edition physical versions. Players can pre-order Stellaris in three editions

• Standard Edition - Contains the game, funnily enough
• Nova Edition - Contains the game,a 140-minute digital soundtrack and exclusive cosmetic DLC
• The Galaxy Edition - includes all of the content from the Nova Edition, along with an extensive Digital Collector’s Book detailing the art and design of Stellaris, the novel “Stellaris: Infinite Frontiers” on eBook, and an exclusive digital wallpaper signed by the development team.

A rather unique promotion also sees anybody who pre-orders getting their name sent into space, kind of. A USB drive filled with the names of all pre-order participants will be attached to a weather balloon and launched into the upper stratosphere in an effort to, in the words of the developers themselves "let drive-by extraterrestrials know who among us are the most enthusiastic to explore space and meet new friends."
