Steam Exploration Sale Now On
It's that time of year again when Steam starts offering games for a lower cost than they previously were. Once again, the sale is running with an exploration theme.
One thing that is noticeable by absence is the traditional Steam flash deals. Seemingly Valve are working on a fixed price model this time. Whilst games will be featured on the homepage in a rotating fashion as the days of the sale go on, there won't be deals at an extra low price for a short time as before. Nonetheless, there have been some deep discounts. Some of the highlights include:
- Life Is Strange complete series £10.71 (33% off)
- Company of Heroes series all games 75% off
- The Talos Principle £10.99 (66% off)
- Wolfenstein: The New Order £5.24 (85% off)
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain £34.49 (25% off)

I read something about a week ago, that Steam will no longer be doing the Flash deals, meaning that the prices on show will be the best deal you can get for the game.
Also, this close to the Steam Winter Sale? Jog on, Steam.

I don't like this idea that you have to "find" the sales. That removes all the incentive to buy.
When the store front page is all HOLY CRAP THIS IS 75% OFF I'm like "OH GOD GOTTA BUY IT".
Now I have to go manually searching games or looking at my wishlist I sort of just go "Oh..." and move on.
Hopefully the Winter sale will be worth the weight.
