Starship Troopers - Terran Command Announced for PC
Listen up fans of late 90s cinema! Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 satirical Sci-Fi, Starship Troopers, is being adapted into a real-time strategy game for PC.
Named Starship Troopers - Terran Command, the game is set in the same universe as the original film and will see players deploying and controlling units of soldiers deep into alien Arachnid territory. Combining traditional real-time gameplay with tower defense mechanics and a focused story set in the recognisable Starship Troopers universe, developers ‘The Aristocrats’ and publishers ‘Slitherine LTD’ aim to provide a compelling strategy experience while doing the movie franchise justice.
Iain McNeil, Development Director at Slitherine LTD, discusses creating a videogame within an existing cinematic universe:
“When creating this game, we aimed to capture the essence of the original movie and its universe. This is not only achieved by creating a coherent set of units and scenarios, but also by mimicking the language, visual elements, dialogues and the little details that made the film such an iconic, cult feature.”
Starship Troopers - Terran Command has been in development for over two years, it’s set to release in 2020 for the PC.
