Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Adds Highly Requested Features in Patch 9

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Adds Highly Requested Features in Patch 9

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor released on the 27th of April of last year, and upon launch, it came out to very poor reception. Even now, nearly a year and a half since it came out on Steam, it sits at 67% positive reviews with over 50,000 users having left their thoughts, making it earn a Mixed rating overall.

Most of these reviews focus on one thing: performance. A vast majority of the 18,158 negative reviews left are due to the optimisation and performance of the game, with many users having refunded the title and letting others know: wait for more optimisation.

Respawn and Electronic Arts have listened to the player feedback with Patch 9, where there are a few fixes that are intended to help with performance. Here are some of the changes that Patch 9 brought for PC players:

  • Framerate improvements
  • Optimisation for CPU usage and GPU scaling with Ray Tracing
  • The removal of highly controversial Denuvo DRM
  • Quality-of-life improvements
  • Bug and crash fixes

Though these changes are all very welcome, and it has brought forth more positive reviews (sitting now at 69% positive reviews with 786 new ones), some say that it still isn't enough. In some cases, users are saying that Patch 9 has worsened some of the issues, with most of the recent negative comments mentioning that this has worsened performance for them.

On the other hand, some of the new positive reviews have said that Patch 9 have fixed a lot of the issues and stuttering (though it is still not perfect), with many sharing positive experiences with it. Though STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor still remains a bit divisive, the consensus seems to be that it might work for some or have worsened it for others, but it's a step in the right direction, bringing in more positive reviews than negative ones.

Patch 9 of STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor is out now for players to try.
